This product delivers!!! I have notoriously stubborn acne & blemish prone skin; I followed the instructions on the label to a T and my skin thanked me for it! After using this for around 1 1/2 weeks my acne is beginning to clear up and my blemishes are barely noticeable. The ONLY downside is the fact that the tightening effect can initially feel a bit itchy... but the discomfort subsided as the clay dried.
First, I used jojoba oil to clean off the dirt and makeup on my skin.
They suggest mixing equal parts clay and raw apple cider or water, I
used water. You are suppose to mix them together until they form a
smooth paste, but I don’t have the patience, so it’s still a little
clumpy. I used the end of my eco tools foundation brush to mix, they
tell you not to use a metal bowl and mixing utensil, you can then use
the other end of the foundation brush to apply it to your face.
Seeing my problem areas are my chin and nose, they were the only places I applied the mask. I have pretty dry skin at the moment so I didn’t really want to use the mask anywhere else. You can apply the mask as thick or thin as you like, depending on your skin and what you need. Like most masks, don’t apply this around your eyes. This is a pretty strong mask so do leave a fair bit of space around your eyes and lips.
The Run Down:
Clay masks help remove dirt, oil and toxins from the skin while tightening pores, promoting blood circulation and healing the skin. Aztec Secret claims to be ‘deep pore cleansing’ and that you can ‘feel your face pulsate’. I don’t think they’re lying, you can definitely feel the mask work, it actually does have a pulsating feeling as it dries. This mask pulls really tightly as it dries, stronger than any other mask I’ve used, so it does leave your skin red which is expected and should disappear in 30 minutes. As it is pulling all of the impurities up to the surface it can sometimes lead to pimples forming. I really think that what this clay claims to do is true and is great for anyone wanting a deep pore cleanse or wanting to help with oily skin.
My Conclusion:
Don't let the cheap looking packaging or silly name fool you, this mask can work wonders if applied regularly. I've included a link to the amazon product page below so you can check it out and see what others have to say about it. Cheers!
